I feel like I'm a fairly boring person when it comes to trips, so my choice for a favorite place is Tahlequah, Oklahoma. I plan to eventually attend the Northeastern State School of Optometry there, and I also enjoy kayaking down the nearby river.
What a small world, Jeremy: my optometrist (who is such a great guy; I had a retinal tear this summer, and he caught it in time so that I did not have a detachment; I got the tear lasered by an eye surgeon - wow!) did part of his studies in Tahlequah... and he has an eye chart in Cherokee in his office even now, which is really cool-looking. Being a really near-sighted person, I have been a fan of optometrists all my life, so I hope you will get to pursue your goal of studying optometry!
Haha. I feel like a boring person too, when it comes to trips. All my trips are family vacations and usually have a purpose. I don't think i've gone anywhere with solely friends or just to have fun.
